I am a thinker, writer, leader, problem solver and have the ambition to change the world someday.
Until then, however, I am a senior at Parkway West High School in Ballwin, MO, and work part time as a cafe member at Life Time Fitness. In between work and school, you can usually find me trying to squeeze in my math homework, partaking in school activities, frantically making a coffee run or trying to catch my breath after a workout or hot yoga class. But if there is anything to know about me, is that I love being busy and I love putting forth all of my effort to get work done.
When most kids groaned as the summer ended and school was starting back up again, I was secretly extremely excited to get back to learning and being in a school environment. While I'm not necessarily at the same excitement level now that I go back to high school curriculum rather than coloring pages of second grade, school is still a big part of my life and a big part of what makes me, well, me. No matter how forcefully I tell you I'm giving up on anything calculus related and am just going to take an F in the class, you can expect the next day I'll be in my teachers classroom squealing at the fact I finally got the concept. Being a part of a great school and exceptional education background, I have learned valuable life skills, and of course, the dangers of procrastination.
From the work experience I possess, I have learned vital communication skills, time management, and most importantly the value of a dollar. Seriously, no one told me getting a job would make me want to spend LESS money- I worked for that paycheck, no more blowing it on shirts I'll wear once from Marshalls.
Now that I am a senior, it's becoming more clear that there is a life outside of the high school gym, our parents' houses and hoping if you give your dad a compliment on how the yard is looking maybe he'll throw you some gas money. While it can be nostalgic and blatantly sad to see these parts of our life pass us by, I am eager to start a new chapter and continue down whichever path I am led down.
Of course there is more to everyone than a few paragraphs on the Internet, but these snippets of my story as well as some of my work, resume and recommendations will hopefully give you a picture of who I am.
